On 16th of June 2019, The Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) celebrated its 3rd Anniversary in Jakarta. The opening started with a speech from PYC Chairperson, Mrs. Filda Yusgiantoro and followed by the video playback of the center’s journey in overseeing the development of Indonesia’s energy and mineral resources sector and also social contributions, in the last three years.
On the day of the event, PYC also gave a recognition for those who provided their input to PYC, called PYC Award. The award was divided by two categories. The first one was for the cooperation with PYC, and the second category was for the contribution to PYC. The first category was awarded to Mrs. Sinta Nuriyah Wahid and the Minister of Industry of Indonesia, Mr. Airlangga Hartarto. Meanwhile, the second category was awarded to Mr. Dato’ Low Tuck Kwong and Mr. Robert Budi Hartono who was represented by his son, Mr. Armand W. Hartono.
After the award, AMANCU, the children, children-in-law, and grandchildren of Prof. Purnomo Yusgiantoro, performed kolintang show and delivered a birthday surprise for Prof. Purnomo Yusgiantoro. Prof. Purnomo also invited his relations who celebrated their birthday in June to came up on the stage. The birthday celebration was followed by a traditional “Tumpeng” cutting ceremony as a symbolic meaning of gratitude to God, safety, and goodness.
The peak of the event was the book launching of “JASMERAH: Menguak Masa Transisi Sektor ESDM 2000- 2009” authored by Prof. Purnomo Yusgiantoro and The PYC Data Center website. Prof. Purnomo Yusgiantoro hopes that the book could inform the readers the story behind Energy and Mineral Resources Sector in the transition era after the economic crisis in 1997-1998, especially when he served as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia (2000-2009).
There was also the launching of PYC Data Center website that provides interactive and free access statistics, economics, and policies data. Mr. Inka Yusgiantoro, as one of the Board of PYC, illustrated the simple steps to access the data and content of PYC Data Center. Users could see the data for free. However, to download the data in the website, new user must register an account and then log in to the website. The site can be accessed in https://datacenter-pyc.org/.
