SKK Migas invited the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center to attend the public lecture on Revitalizing the Oil and Gas Industry: Lesson from the UK. The event was held on 3 September 2019 in City Plaza. The event was also attended by KKKS, the finance industry, and other oil and gas-related institutions. SKK Migas opened the event with a brief speech and hoped that the lecture would give the participants more insight on how to face the declining oil and gas production issue in Indonesia.
The speech was followed up by a presentation delivered by Professor Peter Cameron from the University of Dundee. He is an expert on law and policy, especially in the oil and gas sector. The lecture was focusing on how the UK can increase its production by 9% in 2018 and the important role of decommissioning on the potential investment in the oil and gas industry. The event ended with a question and answer session which focused on how the UK treated the regulation and policy of the oil and gas sector and the impact on their policy regarding the free open oil and gas data on the investment side.
