Indonesian army held a national seminar on the role of the Indonesian Army and the Global Challenges towards the transformation of 2045. The event located in General Gatot Subroto Hall, Indonesian Army Headquarter, Jakarta, 25 September 2019. The speakers are Prof. Purnomo Yusgiantoro (Founder of Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC)), Prof. Mahfud MD (Member of the Steering Committee of the Pancasila Development Board), AM Fachir (Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia) and Askolani (Director General of Budgeting of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance).
Lieutenant General M. Herindra as Inspector General (Inspector General) of the Indonesian Army opened a national seminar on behalf of the Commander of the Indonesian National Army. In his address, the Army Inspector General said that this national seminar was the final series of various Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) that had been conducted by the Indonesian Army. The aim of the FGD and National Seminar is to get a comprehensive description of the condition and transformation of the Indonesian Army in 2045. Therefore, the strategy of building defense forces in the future and the transformation of the Indonesian army can be predicted.
The guest speaker Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his views on Indonesia’s international relations and Indonesia’s defense diplomacy strategy. The Director-General of Budgeting of the Ministry of Finance conveyed the budgeting mechanism carried out at the Ministry of Finance. Prof. Mahfud MD conveyed the importance of understanding the issue of national and global threats. He said that at the present time, the threat of the wholeness of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia comes from within the country itself. Prof. Purnomo Yusgiantoro in his session delivered about how the construction of defense forces was carried out. The process from the reform era to the future in 2045, design of the construction of military defense and the issue of national defense policy.
