The PYC Research Department team, represented by Massita Ayu Cindy and Nadira Asrifa, went to Balikpapan, East Kalimantan for a field visit (21/03). This field visit was a part of the energy market reform research series.
During this occasion, the team visited PT PLN Nusa Daya, formerly known as PLN Tarakan. The visit was welcomed and facilitated by the team from the Planning Department of PLN Nusa Daya. They explained the transformation of PLN Tarakan’s business entity in 2017 by the North Kalimantan Governor into PLN Nusa Daya, as one of the PT PLN (Persero) sub-holdings.
This change also signified a shift in focus of business from primarily focusing on power plant maintenance to operating and maintaining power plants, especially in the Eastern Indonesian region. In this current energy transition period, PLN Nusa Daya is also starting to adapt and adjust its field practices and operational procedures. Furthermore, PLN Nusa Daya is committed to enhance the capabilities of its human resources through upskilling and training staff and teams.
