The Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) officially inaugurated the DLTK–PYC Student Union at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) as a collaborative platform for recipients of the DLTK–PYC Scholarship. The establishment of this Student Union represents a strategic initiative to strengthen engagement, leadership development, and long-term collaboration among scholarship recipients, enabling them to contribute more systematically and sustainably to both the university community and society at large.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent national figures and institutional leaders, including Prof. Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Founder of PYC; Dato’ Dr. Low Tuck Kwong; Filda C. Yusgiantoro, Chairperson of PYC; Alexander E. Wibowo, Member of the PYC Board of Supervisors; Prof. Dr. Pratikno, Chair of the UGM Board of Trustees; as well as Prof. Ova Emilia, Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada, along with the university’s leadership team. Their presence reflected strong collective support for empowering students as future leaders through sustained scholarship and mentorship programs.

Since its launch in 2021, the DLTK–PYC Scholarship Program has supported 1,002 students from diverse academic disciplines at Universitas Gadjah Mada. Beyond financial assistance, the program is designed to cultivate leadership, integrity, and social responsibility, equipping recipients with the values and capabilities needed to play an active role in national development.

Through the formation of the DLTK–PYC Student Union, scholarship recipients are encouraged to continue their commitment to community service in a more structured and collaborative manner. The Student Union serves as a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, social initiatives, and community-based programs, aligned with the principles of higher education’s three core missions: education, research, and community service.

Filda C. Yusgiantoro, Chairperson of PYC, emphasized that the DLTK–PYC Student Union is envisioned as a space for nurturing young leaders who excel academically while maintaining strong social awareness and a commitment to sustainable development. Moving forward, the Student Union is expected to become a model for collective student engagement, fostering innovative solutions to social, economic, and environmental challenges in Indonesia.

The inauguration of the DLTK–PYC Student Union at UGM underscores the shared commitment of PYC and its strategic partners to building an inclusive, sustainable, and impact-oriented education ecosystem. Through close collaboration between educational institutions, philanthropic partners, and students, the initiative aims to contribute to the development of a new generation of leaders dedicated to serving society and advancing national progress.
