On Sunday, 9 November 2025, participants of the Regional Leadership Strengthening Course (Kursus Pemantapan Pimpinan Daerah/KPPD) arrived in Singapore as part of the program’s international learning component. The arrival marked the beginning of a series of activities aimed at broadening global perspectives and enhancing the leadership capacity of regional heads.
The program commenced with a Welcome Dinner hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore. The event was attended by the Deputy Governor of Lemhannas RI, Vice Admiral TNI Edwin, along with his delegation; the Secretary of the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Afrijal Dahrin, and staff; the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) team; as well as officials from the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore. The gathering served as an initial platform to strengthen coordination, foster mutual understanding, and build collaborative spirit among stakeholders.
In his welcoming remarks, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore, Mr. Suryo Pratomo, shared Singapore’s success stories in human resource development, particularly in the areas of governance, education, and public service delivery. These insights are expected to serve as valuable lessons learned for regional leaders in formulating adaptive, competitive, and forward-looking human capital development strategies.
The event at the Indonesian Embassy concluded with the exchange of souvenirs, group photo session, informal networking, and a dinner reception. The warm and collegial atmosphere reflected the Embassy’s strong support for the KPPD program as part of Indonesia’s broader efforts to strengthen national leadership.
The KPPD activities in Singapore will take place from 10-15 November 2025, featuring a series of academic sessions and strategic discussions at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. Through this program, participants are expected to gain international insights and best practices that can be adapted to improve regional governance and public service delivery in their respective regions.
