South Tangerang – Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) held a PYC Bhakti Budaya event in the form of Millennial Wayang Orang Performance, this performance was a collaboration with RBN Puspo Budoyo. South Tangerang Mayor Drs. H. Benyamin Davnie and Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center’s Board of Trustees Luky A. Yusgiantoro, B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D. also attended the performance.

The event, which was held on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 20.00 WIB, was also a manifestation of PYC’s love and responsibility for the continuity of one of the nation’s cultures, namely Wayang Orang Art. As is known, Wayang Orang which originated from Java Island also features the Mahabarata and Ramayana stories.

The Millennial Wayang Orang performance with the title “Srikandi Kembar” tells the story of a king from the Giri Puro Kingdom named Dendo Wikeso who is hurt by the Pandavas for killing his father, Prabu Dibyo Kumoro. Since the power of Giri Puro was not comparable to the power of the Pandavas, he used a cunning way to kill the Pandavas. Dendo Wikeso changed his form into Srikandi to steal Jamus Kalimosodho (a sacred heirloom belonging to the Pandavas) and make the real Srikandi accused of stealing the heirloom. However, Puntadewa gave the real Srikandi a chance to defeat the fake Srikandi.

The Millennial Wayang Orang performance “Srikandi Kembar” was performed by Indonesian millennial artists very nicely. The invited guests who attended in person did not move from their seats until the end of the performance. This performance can also be watched again on the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center and RBN Puspo Budoyo YouTube channels.
