Founder of the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC), Prof. Purnomo Yusgiantoro, together with the Chairperson of PYC, Filda Citra Yusgiantoro, and Secretary of PYC, Amelia Yusgiantoro, attended the opening ceremony of the Regional Leadership Strengthening Course (Kursus Pemantapan Pimpinan Daerah/KPPD) Batch II held at the National Resilience Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (Lemhannas RI). The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, and the Governor of Lemhannas RI, Ace Hasan Syadzily, marking the official commencement of the program.

The KPPD Batch II program is attended by 25 participants who are regional heads at the regency and city levels, consisting of regents and mayors from various regions across Indonesia. Throughout the program, participants will receive comprehensive and holistic training aimed at strengthening national insight, strategic leadership capabilities, and effective communication skills in navigating the dynamic challenges of regional governance.

As part of the curriculum, participants of KPPD Batch II are also scheduled to take part in academic sessions at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), National University of Singapore (NUS), in Singapore. In addition, the program includes study visits to a number of strategic facilities, including those related to education services, healthcare, public transportation systems, and waste management, providing participants with exposure to international best practices in public service delivery.

On this occasion, Prof. Purnomo Yusgiantoro also delivered a lecture on Energy and Mineral Security, emphasizing the importance of national energy strategies in strengthening regional resilience and supporting sustainable development. The lecture highlighted the critical role of effective resource management in ensuring long-term regional stability and economic growth.

The implementation of KPPD Batch II reflects strong cross-institutional collaboration between Lemhannas RI, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) in enhancing the capacity of regional leaders. Through this synergy, the program aims to nurture leaders who are characterized by integrity, vision, and the ability to respond effectively to the nation’s strategic challenges in the future.
