Jakarta — Founder of the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC), Prof. Purnomo Yusgiantoro, was a speaker at the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) titled “Pentahelix Collaboration Model for Offshore Oil and Gas Facilities”, held on Thursday, 23 January 2025. The event was jointly organized by SKK Migas and the Indonesian Defense University (Unhan RI).
The FGD aimed to develop strategic recommendations for implementing a pentahelix collaboration model—involving government, academia, industry, communities, and the media—to strengthen the security and resilience of offshore oil and gas infrastructure in Indonesia.
In his presentation, Prof. Purnomo emphasized the importance of strong synergy among stakeholders to address the complex challenges faced by the offshore oil and gas sector. He highlighted that offshore operations possess high operational and security risks, thus require a cohesive and sustained multi-sectoral approach. Only through robust, cross-sector collaboration can Indonesia build a resilient, efficient, and adaptive management system for its offshore energy assets—capable of navigating geopolitical shifts and embracing technological advancements.
The discussion served as a crucial platform for the exchange of ideas, expertise, and collaborative strategies to bolster national energy security while supporting the long-term strategic goals of Indonesia’s energy sector.
