On September 10, 2019, The Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center attended the opening of the Lotus Sutra Exhibition (Pameran Sutra Bunga Teratai) at the library of the University of Indonesia. The exhibition is being held at the library of the University of Indonesia from September 10 to September 24, 2019, and will be held at Soka Gakkai Indonesia Cultural Center from September 29 to October 27, 2019.
The exhibition is organized by Soka Gakkai Indonesia, in collaboration with the University of Indonesia, National Museum of Indonesia, Dunhuang Academy (China), and The Institute of Oriental Philosophy (Japan). Many Institutions also support this event; one of them is The Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC).
This exhibition aims to introduce the philosophy of Lotus Sutra, a sacred scripture of Buddhism, as one of the legacies of humanity’s wisdom, which proposes a new perspective for modern peace and harmony in society. There are original collections and replicas of manuscripts, paintings, rare Buddhist relics, and the imitation of Dunhuang cave.
