REQUIREMENTS FOR BACHELOR STUDIES

General Requirements

  1. Must hold Indonesian Citizenship.
  2. Should have completed high school (SMA)/vocational school (SMK)/Madrasah Aaliyah (MA) studies or a diploma three (D3), or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA).
  3. Must not currently be enrolled in any ongoing bachelor’s or master’s program, either at local or overseas universities.
  4. Must not be in the process of registering, receiving, or having received scholarships from other sources that may result in double funding of the Dato’ Low Tuck Kwong scholarship.
  5. Participants of the Dato’ Low Tuck Kwong scholarship program must submit a minimum of 1 (one) journal publication uploaded via (https://ije-pyc.org/index.php/IJE) after graduating from UNITEN. Journals should adhere to the criteria specified by the Indonesian Journal of Energy (IJE).

Special Requirements

  1. Proficiency in English, demonstrated by a certificate of English proficiency (TOEFL-PBT/TOEFL-iBT/IELTS) or its equivalent, as detailed below. Exemptions will only be granted to applicants falling into the following TWO (2) categories:
  2. Applicants residing in countries where English is the official medium of communication (English as a first language); OR
  3. Applicants who have graduated from an academic institution using English as the official medium of instruction, must provide an official letter of verification from the institution. This verification is subject to approval.
  4. Must attain the following minimum English proficiency scores:
  5. International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 5.0 out of 9.0 for Engineering Studies; 5.5 out of 9.0 for Accounting Studies; 6.0 out of 9.0 for Computer Science/IT/Business Studies.
  6. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL-PBT): 500 out of 677 for Engineering Studies; 550 out of 677 for Computer Science/IT/Accounting/Business Studies.
  7. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL-iBT): 42 out of 120 for Engineering Studies; 46 out of 120 for Accounting Studies; 60 out of 120 for Computer Science/IT/Business Studies. Must hold a study permit from the employing company (if already employed).
  8. A recommendation letter is required from a referee at the high school (SMA)/vocational school (SMK)/Madrasah Aaliyah (MA) or previous university.
  9. An outlined study plan is necessary.

REQUIREMENTS FOR MASTER STUDIES

General Requirements

  1. Must hold Indonesian Citizenship.
  2. Should possess a completed diploma four (D4) degree or undergraduate degree (S1) level education.
  3. Must not currently be enrolled in any ongoing master’s or doctoral program, either at local universities or overseas universities.
  4. Must not be in the process of registering, receiving, or having received scholarships from other sources that may result in double funding of the Dato’ Low Tuck Kwong scholarship.
  5. Must have a minimum of 1 (one) year of work experience.
  6. Participants of the Dato’ Low Tuck Kwong scholarship program must submit a minimum of 1 (one) journal publication uploaded via (https://ije-pyc.org/index.php/IJE) after graduating from UNITEN. Journals should adhere to the criteria specified by the Indonesian Journal of Energy (IJE).

Special Requirements

  1. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00.
  2. Proficiency in English, demonstrated by a certificate of English proficiency (TOEFL-PBT/TOEFL-iBT/IELTS).

  9. An outlined study plan, research proposal, and a master’s thesis proposal are required.
