On Wednesday, 14 and 28 January 2026, the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) organized a series of collaborative workshops with students from Monash University, Australia, as part of the Monash GIG (Global Immersion Guarantee) program. The activities were held at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (UNIKA Atma Jaya) and served as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and cross-cultural experiences between PYC and international students.
The first workshop was opened by welcoming remarks from the Chairperson of PYC, Filda C. Yusgiantoro, who expressed appreciation for the enthusiasm shown by the Monash University students in participating in the program. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of global dialogue and international collaboration in addressing future challenges related to energy and sustainable development.
On this occasion, PYC also delivered a brief presentation on Indonesia’s energy transition, highlighting its challenges, opportunities, and the role of younger generations in supporting the shift toward a sustainable and environmentally friendly energy system. The session was intended to provide participants with contextual insights into Indonesia’s energy landscape and policies, while also broadening their global perspectives.
In addition to the presentation and discussion sessions, the workshops also feature a variety of interactive games designed to encourage active participation, teamwork, and closer interaction among participants. The atmosphere throughout the activities was dynamic and enthusiastic, reflecting the strong collaborative spirit between PYC and Monash University students.
As a form of appreciation and a lasting memento, PYC presented batik cloth as a souvenir to all participants. This gesture not only served as a token of gratitude for their participation but also as an opportunity to introduce Indonesia’s cultural heritage to the international students.
Through these activities, PYC hopes to continue its active role in facilitating global dialogue, strengthening international networks, and enhancing cross-cultural understanding and awareness of strategic issues, particularly in the fields of energy and sustainable development.
