Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) organized the event “Energy Kaleidoscope: Reflections on Energy Issues in 2025 and the 2026 Outlook” on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, held at Soehanna Hall, The Energy Building, SCBD, South Jakarta. The event was a strategic forum to reflect on the dynamics of national and global energy issues throughout 2025, while also discussing the direction of Indonesia’s energy policy in 2026.

The event was complemented by the presentation of the National Energy Outlook 2026 by the National Energy Council (DEN). In his keynote remarks, Dadan Kusdiana, Secretary General of the National Energy Council, emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral policy synergy in maintaining national energy security amid global uncertainty, energy transition challenges, and evolving geopolitical and international economic conditions.

In her presentation on Energy Issues in 2025, Chairperson of the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center, Dr. Filda C. Yusgiantoro, highlighted that 2025 marked a critical period in Indonesia’s energy transition journey. “Energy challenges are not only related to supply and prices, but also to sustainability, national security, and Indonesia’s future economic competitiveness,” she stated.

Meanwhile, the presentation of the National Energy Outlook 2026 underscored projections of energy demand, policy directions for the national energy mix, and the government’s strategic priorities in strengthening energy resilience and independence. The discussion was further enriched by responses from representatives of the National Economic Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Pertamina Energy Institute, who highlighted the interlinkages between energy issues, national development, energy diplomacy, and transformation of the energy sector.

The Energy Kaleidoscope 2025 event is part of PYC’s annual dissemination agenda that brings together cross-sector stakeholders, including ministries and government institutions, state-owned enterprises, the private sector, academia, civil society organizations, and energy-focused think tanks. Through this forum, PYC aims to foster constructive, research-based dialogue to support the formulation of inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable national energy policies.
