The Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) attended the seminar, that was organized by Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), Institute of Developing Economies (IDE), JETRO, and also Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Indonesia, on 18 September 2019. The seminar was about Regional Waste Management in Indonesia and Other Asian Countries and attended by some private companies, NGOs, and government representatives. The seminar was opened by, Mr. Michikazu Kojima, Senior Economist, ERIA. It was followed by a keynote speech ““Future Actions to Improve Waste Management in Indonesia” by Dr. Novrizal Tahar, Director of Waste Management, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Republic of Indonesia and also a keynote speech “Regional Waste Management in Asian Countries” by Mr. Michikazu Kojima.

The seminar was divided into three sessions: regional waste management in Indonesia and other Asian countries, challenges of regional waste management in Indonesia as well as public private partnership and regional waste management. The invited speakers were lecturers from Philippines and Thailand, government representatives, and also JICA expert on environmental policy. The seminar was moderated by ERIA, IDE-JETRO, and ITB.
