The Chairperson of the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC), Filda Citra Yusgiantoro, has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the CEO of Climateworks Center (CWC), Anna Skarbek. The signing took place as part of a strategic effort to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Australia in the area of sustainable energy development.

This MoU marks the beginning of a collaborative research initiative that will focus on formulating a comprehensive roadmap for critical mineral processing—specifically for low-carbon battery industries. The partnership aims to contribute meaningfully to the development of an efficient and environmentally friendly critical mineral supply chain, acknowledging the pivotal role such resources play in achieving global energy transition targets.

Through this collaboration, both PYC and CWC reaffirm their mutual commitment to advancing innovation, knowledge exchange, and cross-border research in support of a greener and more sustainable future. The roadmap to be developed will not only highlight technological and policy pathways but also explore opportunities for joint investment and capacity building between the two countries.

Following the signing ceremony, the PYC delegation also took part in the “Monash 15th Anniversary Celebration”, held to commemorate 15 years of Climateworks Center’s contributions to climate and energy solutions. The event provided a valuable platform for PYC to strengthen its international networks and engage with leading institutions, experts, and stakeholders committed to shaping the future of the clean energy transition.

This milestone partnership represents an important step forward in regional cooperation, showcasing the shared vision and aligned priorities of PYC and CWC in tackling climate challenges through strategic and actionable research.
