Energy Data Analyst Staff – PYC Data Service

PYC Data Service is one of the flagship initiatives of the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC) that provides comprehensive statistical information and data analysis related to Indonesia’s energy sector. This service aims to support research activities, policy advocacy, and data-driven decision-making. By utilizing and processing up-to-date data, including interactive visualizations and data analysis, PYC Data Service helps improve understanding and access to energy-related data for researchers, policymakers, the private sector, and the general public. While currently focused on the energy sector, PYC Data Service plans to expand its scope to include other areas such as minerals, environment, climate, and national resilience, in line with PYC’s broader strategic initiatives.

PYC is seeking a strong data analyst staff who can make meaningful contributions to the delivery of data in line with the goals and expectations set for PYC Data Service.

REQUIREMENT

1. A minimum of a Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Economics or other related fields; or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
2. Understanding and/or experience in the energy sector is a must.
3. Strong logical & analytical skills, good collaboration, and communication skills.
4. Understanding of data crawling, data manipulation, and data visualization.
5. Ability to transform many types of raw data (PDF, websource, Ms. Excel, database).
6. Familiar with power BI, Tableau, or any business intelligence tools for statistical analysis.
7. Highly motivated individual with the ability to take the initiative, work independently, and collaborate with others in a team.
8. Possessing good time management to deliver high-quality work.
9. Living and/or able to work in Jakarta.

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Conduct end-to-end data analyses to support PYC’s data services, including:
   • Identifying and acquiring new and relevant data sources.
   • Collecting, cleaning, validating, and processing data in accordance with PYC’s data architecture.
   • Creating clear, insightful data visualizations to support analysis and decision-making.
   • Analyzing datasets and visuals to generate actionable insights.
2. Develop and maintain PYC’s data services and implement effective data governance practices.
3. Manage the entire lifecycle of PYC’s data services, from data preparation to delivery.
4. Coordinate with other departments to ensure effective utilization of PYC’s data services.
5. Contribute to the development and application of advanced data practices & methodologies in PYC.
6. Perform other tasks as assigned to support PYC’s initiatives.
