Kuta, Badung – Purnomo Yusgiantoro, a key figure in Indonesia’s mining sector, has been honored with the Indonesian Mining Services Figure Award by the National Executive Board (BPN) of the Indonesian Mining Services Association (ASPINDO). The award was presented at the 2024 Mining Services Annual Meeting (TTJP) held in Kuta, Badung on Friday (01/03/2024).
The award, which is based on the Decree of the Chairman of BPN ASPINDO Number 001/SKKU/ASPINDO/2023, recognizes Purnomo’s significant contributions to the mining sector, particularly in the service industry.
Purnomo’s tenure as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) from 2000-2009 was marked by his successful implementation of the basic foundations of mining governance in post-reform Indonesia. His extraordinary dedication and service in the mining world have been instrumental in shaping the sector, with his policies continuing to bear fruit to this day.
In accepting the award, Purnomo expressed his gratitude and dedicated the honor to his former colleagues, who supported him. Among his notable achievements was the issuance of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) decree No. 28 of 2009 on the Implementation of Mineral and Coal Mining Services Business that was crucial in safeguarding the mining services business sector.
