JAKARTA—The Regional Leadership Strengthening Course (KPPD) Batch IV has been successfully held. The program was organized as a concrete form of tripartite collaboration between the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, the National Resilience Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (Lemhannas RI), and the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC). The KPPD Batch IV program was conducted intensively from 3 to 11 September 2026, with the main activities taking place at Lemhannas RI, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and PYC.

The program was started with the opening ceremony on 3 September 2026, held at the Sasana Bhakti Praja (SBP) Hall of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The ceremony was officially opened by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs III, Akhmad Wiyagus. To develop competent regional leaders, participants received comprehensive training, covering not only materials delivered by the National Resilience Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (Lemhannas RI) and the Ministry of Home Affairs but also global perspectives.

As part of the effort to broaden participants’ global perspectives, the program continued from 7 to 10 September 2026, with sessions featuring presentations by leading experts in public policy. During these sessions, regional leaders received world-class strategic insights, including in-depth perspectives on governance, leadership, and accountability, as well as a deeper understanding of public-private partnerships.

In addition to classroom-based learning, participants also took part in off-site learning sessions through field visits. These visits included several public service facilities and public assets, such as Puskesmas Matraman in East Jakarta, the Jakarta Public Service Mall (Mal Pelayanan Publik Jakarta), and the Jakarta Asset Management Center.

The program also featured a prominent national figure, the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who shared his guidance with the participants. His remarks were delivered during a session of Dialogue with National Figures, moderated by Bima Arya Sugiarto, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs II.

On the final day of the program, participants received sessions focused on regional governance, delivered by the Directorate General of Regional Financial Management and Regional Development Planning of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The session included action plan (renaksi) coaching, which was a mandatory requirement for participants as part of their accountability and follow-up responsibilities after completing the KPPD program.

The KPPD Batch IV program was officially concluded on 11 September 2026, with a closing ceremony led by the Governor of Lemhannas RI at the Dwiwarna Purwa Hall, Pancagatra Building, Lemhannas RI. As a concrete demonstration of the program’s commitment to implementation, the closing ceremony featured presentations of action plans by three selected regional leaders.

Carrying the spirit of governance transformation, the Mayor of Kupang, Christian Widodo, presented “Emergency Funding Innovation at SK Lerik Regional Hospital (RSUD SK Lerik)”; this was followed by the Regent of Kolaka, H. Amri, who presented the “Kartu Beramal Program”; and North Halmahera Regent, Piet Hein Babua, who presented the initiative “Transforming Regional Economic Resilience through Accelerated Downstreaming of Coconut Commodities and Export Governance, 2027–2029.” These strategic presentations were witnessed directly by senior officials from both the Ministry of Home Affairs and Lemhannas RI
