Filda C. Yusgiantoro, Chairperson of the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC), attended a media briefing on the dissemination of findings from a study titled “Strengthening National Electricity Governance toward OECD Accession.” The study is the result of a collaborative effort between the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC), the Center for Energy Studies at Universitas Gadjah Mada (PSE UGM), and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, aimed at supporting improvements in Indonesia’s national electricity governance.

The media briefing was also attended by Mr. Ferry Ardiyanto, Assistant Deputy for Multilateral Economic Cooperation at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, as well as Prof. Sarjiya from PSE UGM. Representatives from several national media outlets were involved in the event to broaden public dissemination of the study’s findings and enhance public understanding of key policy issues in the energy and electricity sector.

The study presents a number of findings and policy recommendations that are expected to serve as constructive input for the government in supporting Indonesia’s accession process to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It highlights the importance of strengthening transparency, accountability, and sustainability principles in the governance of the national electricity sector.

Furthermore, the media briefing served as a platform for dialogue among government officials, academics, research institutions, and the media to discuss challenges and opportunities for reforming Indonesia’s electricity governance. Through open and inclusive discussions, the forum is expected to strengthen cross-sector collaboration and contribute to the development of a more reliable, efficient, and competitive national energy system.
